Battery is very important for your car. It will give you a headache if you use a wrong type of battery. So this post will give you a good a good grasp in choosing the best battery for your car.
This post by the way is based on my experience and also per advise of the Trooper mechanics in our club.
What to look for a battery?
Is it the brand? Is it the model? Is it the type? Perhaps these questions are puzzling you about what is the right kind of battery that you should get.
The first consideration that you will want to check is the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA). What you need is not less than 600. As a rule of thumb, the higher, the better.
The next consideration is how many Ah the battery has. Usually, the higher the CCA, it also has a higher Ah, preferably at least 90 Ah.
So with these in mind, you may want to get these models:
- 105D31L
- 115D31L
- 125D31L
Note: I think the L is the location of the positive terminal. So that could mean 105D31R is basically the same with 105D31L except for the location of the positive terminal. So check how is your battery is fixed for your terminal use.
Battery brands that has at least CCA 700
In my investigation, these batteries will meet the requirements:
- Amaron Pro
- 3K (which is my current battery)
- Panasonic
- Emtrac
- Megaforce
If you get a 95D31L type of battery, in my experience, that will not last long and has a weaker power in starting the Trooper engine. Of course it will still work but as I said, it lacks power.
